Can you explain this quote for me?
In Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban, when harry remembers Mr. Weasly telling him "Never trust anything that can think for itself if you can’t see where it keeps its brain"… what does that mean. Like explain it, please =)
—————————————————————————-
First Part: "Never trust anything that can think for itself"
—————————————————————————-
———-Means————
Do not trust someone who will conjure up a lie.
—————————————————————————-
Second Part: "If you cannot see where it keeps its brain"
—————————————————————————-
———-Means————
It can keep its brain up its butt (meaning it would tell a lie)
or
It can keep its brain with god (meaning it would tell the truth)
—————————————————————————-
Overall it’s Saying
—————————————————————————-
Do not trust someone who is known to lie unless you know if that person is telling the truth this time.
-Not the best quotes in my opinion
-Does not apply to me because a lot of people known to tell the truth will lie because of peer pressure.
Hope this helped.

It’s hard to explain, but it basically means that if someone isn’t constantly bright, then you can’t trust them…Like if something can think for itself (aka human), that doesn’t mean that their smart..ya know…
hope this helps
